Welcome Back 2006-2007

My Fellow Democrats,

Welcome back to the 2006-2007 acadmic year at NKU. The executive board has been working diligently over the summer to make this our most successful year yet. I wanted to give a special thanks to the new president Katie Henderson and your second term vice president Adam Sandfoss as well as Mike McClanahan for dedicating so much time this summer to walk, talk and raise funds for the year ahead.

The foundation has been set for a tremendous year. I am looking forward to seeing all of the existing members, new members and interested parties. This year people are thinking blue, talking blue and hopefully going to vote blue in November.

Congratulations to the Northern Kentucky Young Democrats for winning the Chapter of the Year award at their state convention at the end of July and nods to Jamie Jameson the executive director and John Hammons the treasurer of the Kentucky Young Dems. Way to represent Northern Kentucky!

Recent elections

Congrats to Tim Kaine and Jon Corzine on their elections. The same goes for State Senator Mark Mallory who was elected as Mayor of Cincinnati.

CDKY Elections

The College Democrats of Kentucky will meet this Saturday at Democratic Party Headquarters at 1 PM.

Guest speakers to include State Treasurer Jonathan Miller and Gov. Julian Carroll. There will also be political discussions, officer reports, as well as elections of new officers.

NKU DEMOCRATS NOMINATED AT SOC!

I am very proud to announce that the College Democrats at NKU have been nominated for MOST IMPROVED ORGANIZATION! President Jeremy Mann has been nominated for Outstanding Senior and Vice President Gabe Cronon has been nominated for Outstanding Freshman as well!

We would not have been nominated without the help of everyone. Be proud of these nominations, they are a tremendous honor! The winner(s) will be announced at the Student Organization Celebration.

The Student Organization Celebration is on April 13th at 6:00pm. That is a Wednesday. If you would like to attend please e-mail either Jeremy at nkudems@yahoo.com or Gabe at emailgabe@fuse.net.
